Job Description – Nursing Officer (Female Preferred)

Position: Nursing Officer
Department: Clinical Services / Nursing
Duty Type: Rotational Shifts – 6 hours + 6 hours + 12 hours (Night)
Experience Required: Minimum 2–3 years
Reporting To: Nursing Incharge / Medical Superintendent

Educational Qualification

  • GNM or B.Sc. Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Valid Nursing Registration Certificate (mandatory).
  • All degrees, registration, and documents must be in hand at the time of joining.

Additional Eligibility & Preference

  • Candidates with previous hospital experience (2–3 years) preferred.
  • Previous salary slips, experience certificate, and NOC from previous employer will be considered favourably during selection.
  • Salary is as per interview and is negotiable based on experience and performance.

Shift Structure

  • Rotational duty:
  • 6-hour morning shift
  • 6-hour evening shift
  • 12-hour night shift
  • Weekly rostering as per hospital staffing plan.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, maintain IV lines, injections, dressings, and routine nursing procedures.
  • Assist doctors during rounds and procedures.
  • Ensure infection control practices, hygiene, and patient comfort.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies.

2. Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and complete nursing notes, medication charts, intake/output sheets, and vital monitoring sheets.
  • Document all care activities as per hospital protocol.
  • Update treatment records, nursing assessments, and handover notes.
  • Ensure timely reporting of any clinical changes to the doctor or supervisor.

3. Hospital Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the nursing station and patient care areas.
  • Check and replenish stock of consumables, medicines, and emergency items.
  • Adhere to hospital SOPs, safety policies, and quality guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth patient service delivery.
  • Participate in audits, trainings, and routine quality checks.

  • Strong patient-handling and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a disciplined, fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Good knowledge of general nursing procedures and hospital protocols.
  • Responsible, punctual, and cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts confidently.
