Job Description – NPD Engineer (New Product Development)

Reports To: NPD Head / Director

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong NPD Engineer to support new product development for fasteners and precision engineering components. The candidate will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, preparing drawings, coordinating with production, and ensuring smooth development from prototype to final product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new fastener/engineered products based on customer drawings and samples.
• Create or modify 2D & 3D drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks preferred).
• Perform feasibility analysis, cost estimation, and technical evaluation.
• Coordinate with production, tool-room, QC, and purchase for sample development.
• Prepare BOM, material specifications, and process sheets.
• Conduct trials, validate samples, and ensure timely submission to customers.
• Identify improvements in product design, tooling, and manufacturability.
• Maintain complete documentation of all NPD projects and engineering changes.
• Support customer technical discussions, quality approvals, and audits.

Requirements:

• Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical or equivalent.
• 2–6 years of experience in NPD/R&D/design in manufacturing.
• Understanding of fasteners, metal components, machining, tooling, tolerances.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.
