Night Auditor/Duty Manager

Role Overview: As the Night Auditor, you will be responsible for overseeing hotel operations during the overnight shift. Your main duties will include ensuring the accuracy of daily financial transactions, providing exceptional guest service, and combining accounting tasks with front desk responsibilities to maintain smooth operations during non-business hours. Key Responsibilities: - Perform a nightly audit of daily financial transactions and hotel revenue, ensuring accurate posting to guest folios and accounting systems. - Balance and reconcile all front office postings and room revenue reports. - Prepare and distribute daily reports such as revenue summaries and occupancy statistics to management. - Welcome late-arriving guests, handle check-in/check-out procedures, answer inquiries, and manage reservations or cancellations. - Resolve guest issues and emergencies in a professional manner to ensure a safe and pleasant experience. - Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and prepare the front desk cash drawer for the next shift. - Monitor the security of the property by conducting walk-arounds and reporting any unusual activity. - Keep the lobby and public areas clean and organized overnight. - Provide assistance to other departments as required during off-hours. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality or accounting is preferred. - Previous experience in hotel front desk or accounting roles is strongly preferred. - Proficiency with hotel management software (e.g., IDS) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Capability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. - Availability to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.
