Core Responsibilities

The key duties of a Conversation Moderation Professional typically include:

Content Review and Decision-Making:
- Monitor
  and
  review
  a high volume of user-generated content (chats, posts, comments, videos, etc.) in real-time or through flagged queues.
- Determine
  if content violates community standards, terms of service, or legal requirements (e.g., hate speech, bullying, spam, misinformation, graphic violence, illegal content).
- Apply moderation actions
  which may include removing the content, issuing warnings, or blocking/banning user accounts.
Policy Enforcement and Interpretation:
- Gain and maintain
  expert knowledge
  of complex and evolving community guidelines and policies.
- Apply policies consistently
  and accurately to diverse and nuanced pieces of content, often requiring sound critical thinking and judgment.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain
  accurate records
  of moderation activity, user complaints, and recurring issues.
- Provide
  detailed reports
  on trends, content violations, and policy effectiveness.
Quality and Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with policy, engineering, and quality assurance teams to
  improve moderation tools
  and refine content guidelines.
- Participate in
  calibration sessions
  to ensure moderation decisions align across the team.
