Senior Consultant - NOC and Managed Services

Role Summary:
The Senior Pre-Sales Consultant NOC and Managed Services will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and presenting end-to-end NOC (Network Operations Center) and Managed Services solutions for enterprise and Government clients. The candidate should have hands-on experience in solution architecture, resource estimation, ITSM/NMS tool design, proposal building, and transition planning.
This role demands a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial understanding, and customer-facing communication skills, along with the ability to translate complex client requirements into scalable and sustainable service delivery models.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Solution Designing & Architecture
- Lead the design of end-to-end NOC architecture, including network monitoring, fault management, performance management, and ITSM tool integration based on customer requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend NMS (Network Management Systems) and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, ManageEngine, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.) best suited for client environments.
- Design the NOC framework, including incident, problem, change, and capacity management processes aligned with ITIL standards.
- Develop L1/L2/L3 resource sizing models based on device count, service scope, and SLA definitions provided in RFPs.
- Prepare customized solution documents, including architecture diagrams, BOMs, and deployment strategies.
- Design hybrid NOC models (on-prem / cloud / remote) to suit customer infrastructure and compliance constraints.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with ISO, ITIL, and CERT-In best practices for secure and compliant operations.
- Ability to understand and manage live NOC operations will be an added advantage, ensuring practical alignment between pre-sales design and operational delivery.
B. RFP Response & Proposal Management
- Analyze large and complex Government and Enterprise RFPs to interpret SoW (Scope of Work), SLAs, and deliverables.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, aligning with customer requirements and cost optimization goals.
- Develop effort estimations, pricing models, and cost-benefit analyses for NOC and Managed Services solutions.
- Draft pre-bid queries and coordinate with internal stakeholders to seek clarifications from customers.
- Collaborate with OEMs and technology partners for tool integration, solution validation, and technical compliance.
- Ensure all deliverables meet RFP compliance matrices and technical qualification criteria.
C. Client Engagement & Presentation
- Lead client-facing technical presentations and solution workshops, demonstrating company NOC capabilities and value propositions.
- Prepare and continuously enhance the NOC capability deck, case studies, and solution collateral for client meetings.
- Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, technical discussions, and solution defense sessions across PAN India.
- Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor for Managed Services and NOC solutions.
D. Transition & Delivery Handover
- Support post-award transition and onboarding of NOC projects, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and operational readiness.
- Work closely with Delivery and Project Management teams to finalize implementation plans, SOPs, and SLA frameworks.
- Validate operational metrics and dashboards to ensure alignment with proposed solution KPIs.
E. Internal Enablement & Practice Development
- Conduct periodic enablement sessions for Sales, Practice, and Delivery teams on NOC design, Managed Services trends, and RFP response strategies.
- Mentor junior solution consultants on proposal writing, technical design, and client engagement.
- Contribute to the development of standardized solution templates, cost models, and process documentation.
- Stay updated on emerging NOC technologies (AIOps, SD-WAN, observability, ITSM automation, etc.) to enhance solution value.s
Key Requirements:
Educational Qualification:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Preferred: MBA in Systems / IT Management (optional but desirable).
Professional Experience:
- 812 years of total experience in Network Operations, Managed Services, or Pre-Sales Consulting.
- Minimum 5 years in Pre-Sales / Solution Design for NOC, SOC, or Managed Infrastructure Services.
- Proven track record in Government or large enterprise RFPs and bid management.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Network Infrastructure, NOC Processes, ITSM/ITIL framework, and Service Automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with NMS/EMS platforms like SolarWinds, ManageEngine, PRTG, Cisco DNA, Spectrum, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Cherwell for ITSM integration.
- Experience in Firewall, SD-WAN, and WAN optimization solution components.
- Familiarity with Cloud-based NOC architecture, AIOps platforms, and observability frameworks.
- Excellent understanding of SLA/KPI design, Opex/Capex modeling, and staffing optimization.
- Experience managing security for operational technology (OT) systems, such as SCADA, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with OT-specific security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC-62443).
- Expertise in deploying and managing EDR/XDR solutions like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender.
- Ability to implement endpoint protection strategies and ensure comprehensive threat detection and response.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, SIEM tools, and other security technologies.
- Experience with security tools like Splunk, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and similar.
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools like Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7.
- Proficiency in managing cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, GCP) from a networking and security perspective.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple RFPs and solution discussions simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and proposal accuracy.
- Willingness to travel PAN India for pre-bid meetings, client presentations, and solution workshops.
