JD for Network Engineer

Notice Period: -

Routing

1. Candidate should be excellent in Routing Concepts and hands on knowledge

2. OSPF , BGP , EIGRP, Static , Default ( There can be combination , OSPF/ EIGRP + BGP + Static Routing )

3. Candidate should be excellent at Troubleshooting scenarios.

4. Candidate should have understanding in designing of the Network.( Basics not very advance)

5. In Above Technologies Cisco, Extreme is Preferred, however if concepts are good, we can take a call.

6. Preferably SDWAN Experience. ( OEM , FortiGate Preferred ) / atleast a good understanding.

Switching

1. Candidate should be excellent at Switching Concepts and hands on knowledge)

2. Vlan Tagging

3. Ether channel

4. L2 Switching

5. L3 Switching

6. VTP

7. VPC

8. HSRP/ VRRP

9. BPDU, Root Switch election process and related. All concepts

10. Candidate should be have an excellent knowledge on above topics. ( OEM , Cisco and Extreme Switches ) preferred

Wireless Technologies

Candidate should be excellent at Switching Concepts and hands on knowledge)

1. Excellent understanding on Wireless Technologies (OEM Aruba, However, Cisco, Rukkus etc.)

2. End to End Communication

3. Authentication and Authorization

4. Access Point Integration

5. Access Points Firmware Upgrades

6. SSID

7. Vlan Integration

8. Port Bundling ( Ether channel )

9. VRRP, HSRP , VPC

10. Wireless Bands and related knowledge

11. NAC and Switch Level Configuration

12. Candidate should good at Troubleshooting scenarios.

Security Related Basics

1. Candidate should have basic knowledge about Firewalls ( Preferably FortiGate , Palo Alto , Cisco ACS ), Dont go for Sonic wall/ Sophos experience as they are generally small and dont guarantee a good firewall experience)

2. Firewall Placement in the network ( Architecture )

3. Firewall Architecture

4. Nating

5. Candidate should be able to answer basic traffic flow

6. IPSEC Concepts in detail

7. WAF Concepts basics.

8. Proxy Basic ( Packet flow again )

9. NAC

10. Firewall Switchover

Operational Experience Must

1 .Candidate should have some experience in planning and executing replacements of Router, Switches, Access Points etc.)

2. Candidate should be good at three tier architecture and related concepts and hands on experience

3. Candidate should have SLA and Change Managements concepts.

4. Candidate should have an experience on Enterprise Network which is ad added advantage.
