Network Engineer

• Assist in monitoring network performance (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi) to identify issues like downtime, slow speed, or connection drops.
• Support in maintaining routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Help resolve basic connectivity issues faced by users (internet disconnection, printer connection, or IP conflicts).
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers while documenting troubleshooting steps taken.
• Assist in configuring network devices (e.g., routers, switches, and access points) under supervision.
• Support the IT team in assigning and managing IP addresses.
• Help in setting up new workstations, connecting cables, and ensuring network ports are active.
• Label and organize network cables and hardware inventory.
• Maintain logs of network activities, IP allocation, hardware changes, and support tickets.
• Update network diagrams or layouts as changes occur.
• Assist in applying security patches, firewall updates, and antivirus installations.
• Learn and follow best practices for securing network devices.
• Run regular connectivity and speed tests to ensure optimal performance.
• Prepare daily or weekly reports on network status and incidents.
• Participate in internal training or hands-on projects to gain deeper technical knowledge.
• Shadow senior engineers during installations or troubleshooting to learn professional practices.
