Role description:

At Arcadis IBI, the Network Design Expert will be responsible for the design, validation, and supervision of IP/MPLS-based telecom networks under large-scale national projects. The role includes reviewing high-level and low-level designs, validating equipment installations, ensuring connectivity with State-NOC (S-NOC) and Central-NOC (C-NOC), and guaranteeing end-to-end functionality of deployed networks. The position demands strong expertise in IP/MPLS technologies, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Role accountabilities:

1. Network Design & Planning

• Oversee and validate the design and implementation of IP/MPLS-based networks.


• Review and approve high-level and low-level designs, BoQs, and implementation plans.


• Ensure router configurations are accurate and network elements are reachable from S-NOC and C-NOC.

2. Equipment Installation & Validation

• Supervise installation and configuration of IP/MPLS routers, switches, and related elements.


• Validate end-to-end connectivity, redundancy, and failover mechanisms.


• Conduct acceptance testing and support preparation of ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) documentation.

3. Testing & Troubleshooting

• Perform comprehensive testing, including OTDR, LSPM, latency, and throughput.


• Troubleshoot connectivity, configuration, and performance issues.


• Ensure compliance with SLA, QoS, and project performance benchmarks.

4. Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with implementation teams, NOCs, clients, and Independent Engineers for seamless deployment.


• Support validation of network integration with monitoring and operations systems.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare technical validation reports, compliance checklists, and audit records.


• Support project teams in compiling handover documents and audit deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in:


• Installation, configuration, and validation of IP/MPLS equipment.


• Testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation of telecom networks.


• Experience with large-scale telecom/ISP or government-led projects (preferred).

2 Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS, routing protocols, and network architecture.


• Hands-on experience with router/switch configuration and troubleshooting.


• Familiarity with NOC operations, monitoring tools, and validation practices.


• Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

3 Qualification:

BE/BTech/MCA in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics, or equivalent qualification recognized by AICTE/UGC/Ministry of HRD.
