Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases and related components. Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to database performance, availability, and security. Design, implement, and enforce database policies and procedures for backup, recovery, and security. Implement database upgrades, patches, and updates while minimizing downtime. Database Optimization and Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize database queries and structures to enhance performance. Develop and maintain strategies for capacity planning and database growth. Implement indexing strategies, query optimization, and data archiving. Security and Compliance: Ensure database security through proper authentication, authorization, and encryption methods. Conduct security audits and provide recommendations for improving security measures. Manage user roles, permissions, and access control on MySQL databases. Troubleshooting and Support: Respond to and resolve database issues, including performance, downtime, and user access issues. Provide on-call support for production environments, resolving issues in a timely manner. Database Replication and Clustering: Configure and manage MySQL replication (master-slave, master-master). Implement and maintain MySQL clustering solutions to improve availability and scalability. Collaboration: Collaborate with software development teams to design and implement database structures that meet business requirements. Work with system administrators to integrate databases with other systems and ensure seamless deployment. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements through documentation and audits.
