MRE / O-Calc Engineer

ROLE SUMMARY:

An experienced candidate with Make Ready Engineering (MRE)/Aerial engineer who can work collaboratively with the engineering/design team on the production of design for fiber-based telecommunications infrastructure projects. These designs are created by analysis of all the inputs, understanding the requirements and designing the project on proprietary GIS system/Preferred softwares. Extensive knowledge of standards and specifications of NESC,GO-95 standards, fiber optic design, OSP construction, Aerial Infrastructure practices are required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Including, but not limited to):

• Checking the feasibility of the route & requesting for scoping/Fielding.

• Automation & innovative mindset to find best solution to avoid unnecessary manual task.

• Review field data collected; identify and report failures or missing data.
• Ability to interpret and understand field notes, schematics, maps, drawings & design packages.
• Complete pole loading analysis utilizing

  # O-Calc Pro tool

  & complete

  MRE

  for permit approvals.
• IN depth understanding of modelling of a pole, spans, load cases, guys and anchors, tension and sag calculator, Digital measurement technology (DMT) to perform engineering with least support Checking the feasibility of the route & requesting for scoping/Fielding.
• Understanding of OSP engineering, expertise in Aerial plant to be able to identify attachments on utility poles (e.g.,Conductors, insulators, communication lines, equipment, etc.)
• Navigate web-based programs to gather data and complete analysis. Review field data collected; identify and report failures or missing data. Ability to interpret and understand field notes, schematics, maps, drawings & design packages. Complete pole loading analysis utilizing

  #O-Calc/Spida Calc

  and submitting to client.
• Determine make ready solution that meets National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and/or GO 95 California Public utilities Commission (CPUC) codes.
• Tasks may include planning, scoping, redlining, drafting of fiber network in high-level or low-level design, checking the feasibility of design based on inputs, guidelines, and best practices in the industry.
• Research and interpret inputs from client to gather all details to successfully design a project.
• Co-ordinate with cross functional teams, ensure all region specific, client requirements are met before delivery of project.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have

  1 to 3 years of experience on

  Aerial Infrastructure designing with

  MRE

  &

  PLA

  using

  OCALC

  is

  mandatory.

• Candidates must have

  hands on experience on Ocalc doing PLA analysis evaluation with thorough understanding of different reports, values required for permitting & necessary alterations necessary,

  knowledge on

  PLS-CADD

  will be an added advantage.
• Understanding of OSP engineering, expertise in Aerial plant to be able to identify attachments on utility poles (e.g., Conductors, insulators, communication lines, equipment, etc.)

• Must have knowledge of MRE engineering Aspects & Key pointers to get permits from Jurisdictions

  for multiple vendors across regions of USA.
• Having a prior work experience in

  Aerial design

  tools, using loading software will be given preference.

• Having a prior work experience in

  OSP design

  tools & Advance fielding tools (Katapult & IKE)

  will be an added advantage.

• Having a prior work experience in Comcast, Wyyerd, Cox & AT&T OSP design tools and process will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Aerial Infrastructure designing & analysis, Telecom, Network Planning, Aerial Infrastructure designing & analysis.
• Should be able to do Scoping/ Redlining preparing & submitting packages to jurisdictions and other attachers part from the client.
• Understanding of Aerial/ Underground network deployment from end to end.
• Good understanding of drafting and designing of FTTX Projects.
• Good Experience in GIS, Google Map, Near Map & AutoCAD, Katapult, IKE tools will be an added advantage.

• Education Qualification: Engineering Graduate in any stream
• Highly organized, self-starter and open to work on multiple projects as per business needs
• Good time management, able to meet tight deadlines
• Flexible to work in shifts and contribute as per need
• Good and effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of MS office.
