Molding Process Engineer

As a Molding Process Engineer at Apple, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments such as Supply Management, Product Design, Industrial Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to contribute to the development of new part designs and processes. Your role will be crucial in troubleshooting issues by applying engineering tools and techniques like decoupled molding, scientific molding approach, Tolerance Analysis, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma techniques. Your dedication will drive the enhancement of productivity and quality in plastic part manufacturing, molding, and tooling techniques. You will be the internal expert on molding processes, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of material properties and tool component fabrication techniques. Your involvement in new material and process development will play a key role in fostering innovation. Travel within the region will be a frequent requirement for this role. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 8 years of experience in plastic tool design, mold making, and molding industry, with at least 5 years in a molding process position - Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Plastics Technology, Polymer Science, or equivalent **Preferred Qualifications:** - Hands-on experience in developing plastic processing parameters, mold setup, process optimization, and problem-solving - Experience in managing precision parts, high pace, and mass volume products with multiple vendors concurrently - Proficiency in geometric dimensioning, hot runner systems application, and scientific molding techniques - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Ability to analyze mold flow analysis, conduct scientific studies, and provide improvement feedback - Knowledge of a wide range of materials including engineering plastic, liquid silicone rubber, thermal plastics, primer, and epoxy - Extensive experience in molding process setup, improvement, and optimization - Proficient in written, presentation, and verbal communication Join Apple in making a difference and help leave the world a better place.
