Molded Pulp and Fiber Research Scientist

Your mission in this role will be to lead the development of leakproof and non-soggy delivery containers with a 2-hour shelf life, as well as to explore alternative materials such as agri-residues, bioplastics, and paper for molded fiber products. You will drive innovation in sustainable packaging solutions while ensuring optimal performance and market viability. Key responsibilities include spearheading product development and innovation by establishing benchmark mechanisms for material properties, driving research and technical leadership in exploring different materials, and maintaining quality and performance standards throughout the development process. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with production, R&D, quality control, and sustainability teams to ensure alignment with eco-friendly goals. In the first year, key outcomes for you will include validating and scaling up leakproof and non-soggy delivery containers, successfully utilizing alternate materials for delivery containers, and executing one long-term project with alternate substrates. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in disciplines such as Pulp and Paper Technology, Polymer Engineering/Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering fields with a focus on materials and polymers. Additionally, you should have at least 5 years of experience in product development or R&D roles, with a strong background in material science, processing, and sustainable materials and manufacturing processes.
