MoE-funded PhD vacancy

🔶 MoE-funded Ph.D. opening at IIT Hyderabad in the Dec-2025 admissions cycle.

🔶 If you are interested in blending concepts from fluid mechanics, polymer science and material processing with real time imaging and AI/ML analysis tools, my colleague Dr. Satyavrata Samavedi and I have a joint opening for a Ph.D. position.

🔶 About the research: In this research project focusing on polymer electrospinning, you will have an exciting opportunity to work with a state-of-the-art electrospinning system to directly visualize how polymeric nanofibers form, and subsequently develop real-time control strategies to produce fibers with tailored properties. The outcomes from the project can impact multiple sectors where electrospun fibers are used, including filtration, catalysis, energy storage systems, pharma and biomedical devices. There is ample scope to explore CFD simulations of electrospinning flows, learn linear stability analysis and advanced image processing techniques.

🎓 Eligibility: B.Tech or M.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering or Polymer Science and Engineering or Allied areas; Or, MSc in Physics with focus on Condensed Matter Physics.
