Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mining operations, including development, production, and resource optimization.
  
• Oversee daily site operations while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  
• Formulate and execute short-term and long-term mine plans and production schedules.
  
• Collaborate with geology, planning, and maintenance teams to enhance mine performance.
  
• Optimize utilization of equipment, manpower, and other resources for maximum efficiency.
  
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
  
• Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure statutory compliance.
  
• Prepare and present operational reports, productivity analysis, and performance metrics to senior management.
  
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control measures across mining activities.
  
• Mentor, guide, and manage a team of mining engineers, supervisors, and operators.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors Degree in

  Mining Engineering

  (from

  Central Mine Planning and Design Institute – CMPDI

  ) –

  Mandatory

• 10–20 years of relevant experience in

  mining and mine development

• Proven track record of managing large-scale operations in

  coal, bauxite, or chromium mining

• Experience in both

  underground and opencast (open-pit) mining operations

  preferred
• Strong knowledge of

  mine planning software

  , statutory regulations, and industry best practices
• Demonstrated leadership, team management, and decision-making capabilities
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  

Preferred Certifications

• First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Coal/Metal)

  – as per statutory requirements

• PMP / Project Management certification

  (optional, but an advantage)

• Safety and Environmental Management certifications
