Mining Foreman

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Shanvi Resources Private Limited is looking for a Mining Foreman who is responsible for overseeing daily mining operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant extraction of minerals. This role involves managing personnel, enforcing safety and environmental standards, coordinating with technical teams, and maintaining operational efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities, deep technical knowledge of mining processes, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Safety Compliance:

• Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring all personnel comply with relevant safety regulations.
• Verify that workers always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills to promote safety awareness.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents; analyse root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

2. Operational Oversight:

• Supervise daily mining operations to achieve production targets efficiently while minimizing waste and equipment downtime.
• Coordinate with engineers, geologists, and maintenance teams to plan and execute mining activities effectively.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.
• Ensure proper utilization of resources and adherence to mining plans and schedules.

3. Personnel Management:

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of miners, equipment operators, and support staff.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities according to individual skills and experience.
• Provide ongoing training and mentorship to enhance workforce competency and productivity.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal mining, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to permits, inspections, and audits.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections and ensure prompt resolution of any non-compliance issues.

5. Environmental Stewardship:

• Implement sustainable mining practices that minimize environmental impact.
• Oversee reclamation, water management, and erosion control activities.
• Work closely with environmental teams to ensure adherence to environmental management plans.

6. Reporting and Communication:

• Prepare and submit regular reports detailing production metrics, safety records, equipment status, and workforce performance.
• Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on operational progress, challenges, and proposed improvements.
• Participate in planning and review meetings to align operational goals with company objectives.

Qualification/ Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (a degree or certification in Mining Engineering or related field preferred).
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid Mining Foreman Competency Certificate.
• In-depth knowledge of mining techniques, equipment operation, and safety standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate multidisciplinary operations.
• Familiarity with environmental and regulatory requirements in the mining industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to perform under pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
