Vedanta’s Sesa Goa Business caters to the requirements of the Iron & Steel supply chain. We produce Iron Ore, Pig Iron and Coke. It comprises of Iron Ore Goa, Iron Ore Karnataka, Iron Ore Odisha, Value Added Business, Sesa Cement and Sesa Coke - Gujarat & Maharashtra. The Sector has a unique competitive advantage of having operations in 5 States.

Iron Ore Mines at Barbil, Odisha is a step poised towards ramping up of our Iron Ore mining business. The business has two mines (Fee Grade and BICO) with a joint capacity to operate at around 6 MTPA and provides both Raw Material security to ESL as well as being a significant Merchant Mining company in both Domestic and Export markets.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible to plan, direct, coordinate and accomplish the production targets of mines and plants.
• Ensuring optimal accomplishment of OEE.
• Ensure safe operations with focus on cost reduction and quality enhancement.
• Benchmark best in class operations and mine planning procedure across mining industries to ensure operational excellence.
• Work on focused improvement projects with cross functional teams to accomplish excellence.
• Harmonious and outcome-oriented working with MDO’s and internal stakeholders.
• Responsible for overall Health, Safety & Environment performance of mining operations.
• Accountable to communicate IMS & VSGS objectives to all concerned and create awareness on their role in achieving the targets in mining operations.
• To liaison with DGMS to ensure compliance and smooth functioning of mining operations.
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities as per Metalliferous Mines Regulations Act, 1961.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of ore and waste at mines.

Qualification & Experience:

B.E. in Mining (First Class Mines Manager Certification) with more than 12 years of relevant experience and a sound knowledge of legal statutes.
