Job Description: Mid-Level– Polyethylene Foam Extrusion Operations

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations of PE foam extrusion lines (EPE, XLPE, IXPE, etc.).
• Plan, monitor, and achieve production targets in line with company objectives.
• Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, energy, and manpower.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for extrusion and lamination processes.

2. Process Optimization & Quality Control

• Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, line speed, etc.) and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Troubleshoot extrusion defects (uneven cell structure, poor expansion, discoloration, etc.).
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with product specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement programs for yield, scrap reduction, and process stability.

3. Equipment Maintenance & Technical Support

• Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance of extruders, chillers, compressors, and ancillary equipment.
• Ensure minimal downtime and fast recovery from technical faults.
• Evaluate and recommend upgrades or modifications for machinery and tooling.

4. Team Leadership & Training

• Lead and mentor shift supervisors, line operators, and technicians.
• Conduct training on machine operation, safety, and process best practices.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence.

5. Planning & Reporting

• Collaborate with the supply chain team for raw material planning (LDPE, talc, butane, color masterbatch, etc.).
• Monitor production KPIs — OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), yield, and energy consumption.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly production performance reports.

6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with environmental regulations related to extrusion operations.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of raw materials, particularly flammable blowing agents.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on experience in PE foam extrusion (EPE, XLPE, IXPE, or similar).
• Proven track record in managing high-output extrusion lines and production teams.
• Strong knowledge of extruder operation, die design, foam density control, and process troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with butane or LPG-based expansion systems, lamination, and slitting operations.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in African or international manufacturing environments is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹13,916.76 - ₹36,373.69 per month
