Microbiology

The role involves preparing samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries, and applying aseptic techniques in daily workload. You will be responsible for maintaining media and reagents required for microbiological testing, as well as managing inventory and reporting expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements. Additionally, you will perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal. Quality control monitoring will be an essential part of your responsibilities, including tasks like taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, and running media controls. You will independently pursue assigned processes, procedures, or techniques in accordance with FSNS policies/procedures and customer requirements. Maintaining laboratory conditions, including equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures, is crucial. You are expected to perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner while sharing information openly and in a timely fashion. Ensuring safety for yourself and others working in your area, as well as completing required training, are integral parts of this role.,
