Mep Engineer (Construction )

Role Description & Responsibilities :

We are looking for an MEP Engineer who can take ownership of site-side MEP coordination and execution, working closely with the Project Manager, consultants, and contractors.

This role is suited for someone who understands that MEP success on redevelopment projects depends on early coordination, drawing discipline, and proactive issue resolution, not firefighting at finishing stages.

Key responsibilities include:

MEP Execution & Coordination

• Oversee execution of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire-fighting, and ELV systems on site

• Ensure MEP works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and statutory requirements
• Coordinate closely with civil and finishing teams to avoid clashes and rework
• Supervise MEP contractors on quality, sequencing, and readiness

Drawings & Design Interface

• Review MEP drawings for constructability and site feasibility
• Coordinate with MEP consultants for GFC drawings, revisions, and RFIs
• Track drawing issuance and approvals in line with site requirements
• Flag coordination gaps early (shafts, sleeves, ceiling zones, service routes)

Planning, Quality & Testing

• Support look-ahead planning for MEP activities aligned with civil progress
• Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and documentation of systems
• Monitor quality benchmarks, inspections, and snag closures
• Support handover documentation for OC and final possession

Digital & BIM Coordination

• Use BIM models or coordination drawings for clash detection and planning (preferred)
• Work with BIM viewers / coordination tools to support execution
• Maintain structured MEP trackers, checklists, and reports

Ideal Profile

• Strong hands-on knowledge of site execution, not just design coordination
• Experience working with MEP consultants and multiple contractors
• Exposure to BIM-based coordination or BIM viewers is strongly preferred
• Clear understanding of Indian codes, approvals, and statutory requirements
• Comfortable using Excel, drawings, and digital coordination tools
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
• Mumbai-based; redevelopment project experience is a plus
