Mep Design Manager

Role & responsibilities:

• Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution, plumbing, fire-fighting, and building management systems (BMS).
  

• Design Coordination

• Ability to

  integrate MEP designs

  with architectural and structural layouts to avoid conflicts.

• Technical Drawing & Review

• Proficiency in reviewing and validating MEP designs, shop drawings, and detailed working drawings.
  

• Regulatory & Code Compliance

• Strong understanding of

  local codes

  (NBC, ECBC, fire norms) and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE).

• Project Planning & Scheduling

• Capability to plan and track design deliverables within project timelines.
  

• Vendor & Consultant Coordination

• Experience in managing

  external consultants, vendors, and contractors

  for design and technical approvals.

• Cost Estimation & Value Engineering

• Preparing BOQs, optimizing designs for

  cost efficiency

  without compromising on quality.

• Software Proficiency

• Hands-on knowledge of

  AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), Navisworks

  , and other design/coordination tools.

• Problem-Solving & Risk Management

• Ability to identify potential design conflicts and propose

  practical solutions

  proactively.

• Team Leadership & Communication

• Leading a multidisciplinary design team and ensuring

  effective communication

  between stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech in

  Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

  (Masters in Building Services/MEP Design preferred).

• Experience:

  10–15 years

  of relevant experience in

  MEP design

  for large-scale

  real estate, commercial, or infrastructure projects

  , with at least

  3–5 years in a managerial role

  .

• Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in

  HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting

  , and

  BMS

  design.
• Strong knowledge of

  local building codes

  (NBC, ECBC) and

  international standards

  (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE).
• Hands-on experience with

  AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks

  , and other relevant software.

• Project Management Skills:

• Ability to

  lead multidisciplinary design teams

  , manage consultants/vendors, and coordinate with architects & structural engineers.
• Proven track record in

  cost estimation, value engineering, and design optimization
