Standardized Title:

Medical Officer - Cardiology

About The Opportunity

A role in the tertiary-care healthcare sector serving cardiac patients across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings. This position sits within a clinical cardiology & cardiac critical-care environment focused on delivering evidence-based diagnostics, acute cardiac care and continuity-of-care for ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias and related comorbidities. We seek a practical, patient-focused clinician to support CCU operations, diagnostics (ECG/ECHO) and routine cardiology consultations on-site across India.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care to cardiac patients in OPD, inpatient wards and CCU—assess, diagnose, initiate treatment and escalate as needed.
  • Perform and interpret ECGs and basic transthoracic echocardiograms; document findings and recommend next-step workup.
  • Deliver emergency cardiac interventions (ACLS protocols, initial stabilization, thrombolysis where indicated) and coordinate transfers to higher-level care or cath lab teams.
  • Manage daily rounds, medication orders, discharge planning and follow-up instructions; ensure accurate EMR/charting and handovers.
  • Work closely with senior cardiologists, nursing staff, physiotherapists and diagnostics to implement treatment plans and quality clinical pathways.
  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews and local quality-improvement initiatives to improve cardiac outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • MBBS with valid Indian medical council/state registration and 2+ years clinical experience (medicine/cardiology exposure preferred).
  • Proven ability to interpret ECGs and perform/interpret basic transthoracic echocardiography.
  • Experience managing CCU/acute cardiac patients, including acute coronary syndromes, heart failure and arrhythmias.
  • Current BLS & ACLS certification and hands-on experience in emergency cardiac care.
  • Strong documentation skills with experience using hospital EMR systems and adherence to clinical governance.
  • Excellent communication, patient counselling and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • MD/DNB (General Medicine) or diploma/experience in cardiology or critical care.
  • Experience working alongside cath-lab teams and familiarity with peri-procedural cardiac care.
  • Prior exposure to heart-failure clinics, device follow-up or electrophysiology workflows.

Benefits & Culture Highlights

  • Hands-on clinical exposure across OPD, CCU and emergency cardiology with senior mentorship.
  • Structured clinical governance, continuing medical education and opportunities for skills development.
  • Patient-centric, multidisciplinary environment focused on measurable quality outcomes.
To apply, candidates should be willing to work on-site in India and demonstrate a strong commitment to acute and chronic cardiac care. This position is ideal for a motivated clinician seeking broad cardiology exposure and growth within a high-quality healthcare setting.
