We are seeking a qualified and experienced Consultant – Medical Gastroenterologist to join our esteemed medical team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on excellence in patient care.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments, investigations, and diagnosis of gastrointestinal and liver-related disorders.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP (if trained), and sigmoidoscopy.
  • Manage both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology cases, including emergencies such as GI bleeding, liver failure, etc.
  • Provide medical management and follow-up care for patients with chronic GI disorders such as IBD, cirrhosis, hepatitis, and pancreatitis.
  • Coordinate with surgical gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other departments for integrated patient care.
  • Document patient care services, maintain medical records, and comply with hospital and departmental protocols.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, and hospital CME programs.
  • Mentor and guide junior medical staff, residents, and nursing personnel.
  • Support quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential Qualification: MBBS, MD, DM/DNB in Medical Gastroenterology from a recognized university/institution.
  • Must be registered with the TCMC.
  • Experience: Minimum of 0-1 years post-DM/DNB experience in a reputed hospital setup is preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing diverse gastroenterology cases independently.
  • Proficient in endoscopic and colonoscopic procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with the latest advancements and treatment protocols in gastroenterology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and critical thinking.
  • Experience in handling liver and pancreatic disorders will be an added advantage.
