Mechanical Technician

Primary Roles Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery (e.g., pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, forklift, diesel generators, belt chain gear drives). Lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and inspect mechanical systems to prevent failures. Industrial pneumatics Troubleshooting and Repair Diagnose mechanical faults using tools, test equipment, and technical documentation. Repair or replace faulty components such as bearings, gears, belts, shafts, and seals. Adjust and align mechanical parts to ensure optimal performance. Installation and Setup Assist in the installation of new mechanical equipment and systems. Ensure correct alignment, balance, and integration with existing systems. Equipment Monitoring Monitor equipment performance using condition-monitoring tools (e.g., vibration analysis, thermal imaging). Record data and report irregularities for early detection of potential issues. Safety and Compliance Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with company and regulatory standards. Identify and mitigate safety hazards in mechanical systems. Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, parts used, and system performance. Report any recurring issues or potential equipment upgrades to supervisors. Collaboration Coordinate with engineers, electricians, and production staff to minimize downtime. Assist other technicians or train junior staff as needed. Key Skills and Competencies Solid understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and schematics. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging industrial environments. Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
