Mechanical Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, utilities, and mechanical systems.
• Lead the mechanical team to ensure minimum downtime and maximum availability of critical equipment used in the production of industrial salt, liquid bromine, and sulphate of potash.
• Manage day-to-day maintenance operations, troubleshooting, and equipment performance improvements.
• Oversee mechanical maintenance of pumps, compressors, agitators, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, conveyors, and material handling systems.
• Develop and implement robust preventive maintenance schedules in alignment with production requirements.
• Evaluate root causes of equipment failures and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage spare parts inventory, procurement planning, and vendor coordination for mechanical equipment.
• Drive energy efficiency, cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvements in maintenance practices.
• Ensure strict compliance with statutory norms under the Factories Act and other applicable industrial safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with production, electrical, instrumentation, and utility teams for smooth plant operations.
• Prepare budgets, MIS reports, and capital expenditure proposals related to mechanical maintenance.
• Train, mentor, and lead the mechanical maintenance team to achieve performance excellence.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within chemical/process plant industries, preferably handling sea-based raw materials or inorganic chemicals.
• Proven track record of independently managing plant maintenance and leading a team of supervisors and technicians.
