Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Commissioning:

• Supervise installation and commissioning of rice mill machinery (cleaning, destoning, husking, whitening, polishing, grading, sorting, packing lines, boiler, dryer, conveyors, elevators, etc.).
  
• Ensure alignment, calibration, and trial runs of machines before operations.
  

• Operations & Maintenance:

• Plan and implement preventive & predictive maintenance schedule for all mechanical equipment.
  
• Minimize downtime through quick troubleshooting and repair of breakdowns.
  
• Maintain spares inventory and liaise with vendors for timely procurement.
  

• Process Optimization:

• Monitor machine performance (output, yield, efficiency, energy consumption).
  
• Implement process improvements to reduce wastage and improve product quality.
  
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain consistent output.
  

• Team Management:

• Lead and train junior engineers, operators, and technicians.
  
• Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and downtime analysis.
  

• Vendor & Project Coordination:

• Handle AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) with machine suppliers.
  
• Negotiate with equipment manufacturers for service support and upgrades.
  
• Work closely with civil/electrical contractors during plant setup and expansion.

Must-Have Skills

• In-depth knowledge of rice mill machinery such as:
  

• Pre-cleaner, De-stoner, Paddy Separator, Husk Aspirator, Rice Whitener, Polisher, Grader, Sortex, Boiler, Dryer, Elevators, Conveyors, Packing Machines

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  
• Knowledge of lubrication, bearings, gear systems, hydraulics, pneumatics.
  
• Ability to design, modify and optimize plant layouts.
  
• Proficiency in preparing maintenance schedules and SOPs.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in

  Mechanical Engineering

  .
• Minimum

  15 years of experience in Rice Mill / Food Processing / Grain Handling Plant

  .
• Hands-on knowledge of

  modern automated rice mills

  (Satake, Buhler, Milltec, or equivalent machinery preferred).
• Strong leadership qualities, analytical thinking, and decision-making ability.
