As a skilled and expert Senior Applications Mechanical Designer at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in supporting innovative solutions by replacing obsolete auxiliary equipment on industrial gas turbines. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the continued reliability and efficiency of our products. Here's a snapshot of what your day may look like: - **System Upgrades:** Apply the latest systems and technologies to enhance the performance and reliability of our gas turbine package auxiliary equipment. - **Technical Interface:** Collaborate with internal departments, regional divisions, suppliers, and customers to drive project upgrades within allocated budgets and timescales. - **Standardisation:** Document solutions that can be consistently applied across projects. - **Sales Support:** Provide technical recommendations to support future upgrades. - **Obsolescence Management:** Identify and source replacements for components and systems to uphold equipment functionality. - **Product Improvement:** Implement package upgrades to elevate the overall product lifecycle. - **BOM Management:** Generate and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. - **Documentation:** Develop and maintain engineering documentation including engineering drawings, design calculations, purchase specifications, and technical reports. **Qualifications:** - HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in a related engineering field. Time served may be considered. **Relevant Experience:** - 10+ years of experience in a design and 3D CAD role within an associated or similar industry. **Technical Skills:** - Proficiency in 3D CAD. **Software Proficiency:** - Knowledge of PLM software would be advantageous. Experience in MS Office Suite is essential. **Self-Management:** - Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them within set timescales. **Problem-Solving:** - Capability to independently address engineering challenges. **Attitude:** - A proactive and positive mindset with attention to detail, clear thinking, and effective problem-solving abilities. --- About the Team: Siemens Energy's Gas Services division focuses on providing low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization.
