Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (New Product Development – NPD) who will be responsible for designing and developing new products from scratch, converting concepts into CAD models, prototyping, validating designs on-site, and preparing them for production. The role requires deep industrial mechanical knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership skills to guide junior engineers on multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Lead end-to-end product design lifecycle, from concept to final prototype.
• - Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor (or similar CAD tools).
• - Develop prototypes and conduct on-site testing/validation of designs.
• - After successful prototype validation, prepare the final product model and validate it.
• - Drive the process for Intellectual Property (IP) registration of developed products.
• - Compile and complete test reports and ensure compliance with required product standards.
• - Apply mechanical expertise in transmission systems, structural design, and automation solutions.
• - Work closely with Electronics, IT, and Production teams to ensure integrated product development.
• - Manage and mentor junior engineers handling both new product design and existing product improvements.
• - Maintain design records, BOMs, test reports, and compliance documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• - 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design and development.
• - Strong expertise in CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
• - Should have knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal design, plastic mould design and equivalent.
• - Proven track record in prototype development and on-site validation/testing.
• - Experience in preparing final models, IP filings, and compliance documentation.
• - Knowledge of transmission systems, structural design, and automation.
• - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• - Ability to lead a small design team and manage multiple projects.
• - should have basic knowledege of electronic harness, controllers, communication and preriferral devices for end-to-end product develoment.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

• - Exposure to electronics integration and mechatronic systems.
• - Experience in DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and industrial standards.
• - Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection.
