Mechanical Design Engineer

Engineer to oversee Data center Design for all new HyperScale and Edge Data Centers. Right from site selection, civil and architectural design from HVAC side including chillers, precision air handling units, fan wall units, VRF, thermal storage tanks, pumps, PACsand low side works.

The candidate’s job will be to ensure that the Design for every data center meets the end customer requirements and also internal stake holders criterion. Ability to bring in latest innovations in Data Center technology and reducing PuE and WuE will be the key matrices. Also coordinate amongst vendors, OEM, Statutory Consultants, Power Consultants, Design Consultants, Project Management Consultants and internal and external processes and stake holders to ensure that our projects are designed on time and with the highest international standards. Also interact with our customers to capture their design intent and requirements in our DBR and prepare the design accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Creating detailed design and engineering for Tier 3/ 4 Data center build including master layout design for HVAC, Plumbing, HSD and CPM integration
• Understanding and preparing equipment tender BOQ's with necessary technical specifications, layouts, heat load cal, CFD, PUE calculation etc.
• Interacting with the customers to understand their business requirement and designing the Datacenter
• Ensuring proper design planning and delivery
• Interacting with Vendors and contractors
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation
• Have strong knowledge in the L0 to L5 Integrated Site Acceptance testing , to review the test scripts and oversee the T & C process from a design perspective

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering degree
• Proven relevant work experience in Data Center Industry
• Solid technical background, with understanding and hands-on experience in data center Infrastructure
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD, BIM REVIT, CFD tools etc
• CDCP Preferred
