Mechanic cum Plumber

We are looking for a Mechanic cum Plumber to support day-to-day maintenance activities at our Production Plant. The ideal candidate will handle mechanical and plumbing repairs related to irrigation systems, processing machinery, piping networks, and facility infrastructure. The role is crucial to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations in seed processing, drying, and storage areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair seed processing equipment such as graders, cleaners, conveyors, dryers, and packing machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant machinery and motorized equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults in systems like blowers, elevators, belt drives, etc.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery or upgrades.

Plumbing Responsibilities:

• Maintain water/air supply lines.
• Repair leaks and clogs in PVC, GI, and HDPE pipelines across the plant and fields.
• Install and maintain fittings, valves, and irrigation pumps.
• Support the maintenance of drainage systems and wastewater pipelines.

Other Responsibilities:

• Respond to breakdowns or emergency maintenance requests.
• Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
• Ensure safe use of tools and compliance with plant safety protocols.
• Assist in inventory of mechanical and plumbing spares.

Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Plumbing Trade (preferred).
• Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in an agro-industrial or seed processing environment.
• Basic knowledge of agricultural irrigation systems is an added advantage.
• Experience working with both manual and semi-automated equipment.

Key Skills:

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Plumbing installation and maintenance.
• Understanding of seed plant equipment and irrigation systems.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Teamwork, flexibility, and reliability.

Work Conditions:

• May involve working in both indoor plant areas and outdoor fields.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
• May require working overtime during harvest or peak production periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
