Role Purpose:

JSW Motors

Key Responsibilities:

1 Process & Equipment Engineering

  • Lead process design, line layout planning, and manufacturing feasibility for Powertrain (Engine Assembly, Machining, Transmission) operations.
  • Develop detailed process documentation – PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
  • Standardize processes to achieve consistent productivity, quality, and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) integration.

2 Project Management & New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Drive industrialization of new Powertrain products (ICE / EV / Hybrid engines, transmissions).
  • Prepare CapEx budgets, equipment specifications, and supplier technical evaluations.
  • Ensure timely project execution including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handover to production.
  • Lead engineering change implementation (ECN / DCR) and validation activities.

3 Continuous Improvement & Productivity

  • Optimize cycle time, line balancing, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and TPM initiatives across the Powertrain shop.
  • Drive cost reduction through process optimization, automation, and digital manufacturing.
  • Support JSW Motors’ Industry 4.0 transformation by enabling data-driven manufacturing systems.

4 Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure process capability and adherence to JSW Motors’ quality standards.
  • Conduct MSA, SPC, and Cp/Cpk studies for critical processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Supplier teams for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and safety regulations.

5 Cross-functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality to achieve operational excellence.
  • Manage vendor development, trials, and process validation for new equipment and tooling.
  • Coach and mentor ME engineers and shop-floor teams for technical and behavioral development.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering
  • Experience:

    8–15 years in Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (Engine Assembly, Machining, Transmission, Driveline)
  • Proficient in

    AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, SAP, MES, Q-DAS

    , or equivalent tools.
  • Sound knowledge of Lean, PFMEA, 8D, and A3 problem-solving methodologies.
