1. Strong Subject Knowledge Deep understanding of mathematical concepts for Grades 6-8, including number systems, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. Familiarity with Common Core State Standards (CCSS) or other American curriculum frameworks. 2. Instructional Expertise Skilled in planning and delivering engaging, student-centered math lessons. Proficient in differentiated instruction to address varied learning styles and abilities. Capable of making abstract concepts accessible through visual models, real-life applications, and interactive activities. 3. Assessment and Data Use Competent in designing and using formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress. Able to analyze assessment data to adjust instruction and support individual student growth. 4. Classroom Management Effective in establishing a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. Uses proactive behavior management techniques that promote responsibility and positive student interactions. 5. Technological Proficiency Experienced in using digital tools and platforms such as Google Classroom, Khan Academy, Desmos, and Edpuzzle to enhance instruction and engagement. Utilizes technology for assignments, communication, and performance tracking. 6. Communication and Collaboration Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. Instructional Delivery Teach mathematics to middle school students (typically Grades 6-8) following standards such as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) or state-specific frameworks. Plan and deliver engaging, grade-appropriate lessons in topics such as ratios, algebraic expressions, equations, geometry, data analysis, and probability. Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including differentiation and scaffolding. 2. Assessment and Feedback Design and implement formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding and growth. Analyze assessment data to guide instruction and provide targeted interventions. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance. 3. Classroom Management Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and effort. Implement effective behavior management strategies aligned with school policies. Foster student responsibility, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. 4. Curriculum and Lesson Planning Develop and maintain long-term and short-term instructional plans aligned with curriculum standards.
