Material Planner

The Material Planner position at Ingersoll Rand Inc. in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, involves active participation in planning and scheduling material delivery from suppliers. As a Material Planner, you will play a crucial role in monitoring buy item flows, ensuring component availability to prevent material shortages, managing inventory levels, and meeting customer service and inventory targets effectively. Responsibilities include receiving and analyzing requisitions to determine quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements. You will recommend and select suppliers from the approved list to meet scheduled plant deliveries, as well as onboard new suppliers for material planning purposes. It is essential to maintain an up-to-date ABC classification for planning and contribute to the PFEP process. Additionally, you will need to manage optimal inventory levels, coordinate with Quality Assurance to address quality issues, identify cost-saving opportunities with suppliers, and expedite deliveries to meet critical requirements. As a Material Planner, you may lead and direct others to achieve organizational objectives, expedite deliveries, maintain the material plan, coordinate with production planners for solutions, evaluate supplier performance, resolve invoicing discrepancies, and provide customer promise dates based on material and capacity availability. Effective communication with suppliers, reviewing open requirements, and addressing delivery, quality, or pricing issues promptly are also key responsibilities. Requirements for this role include a BE/B-Tech Mechanical degree, 5-7 years of relevant experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems, knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective time management abilities.
