Market - Fixed Income Derivatives Analyst

J. P. Morgan s Markets Group (part of CIB Research & Analytics) in Mumbai was set up in 2013 as an extension of the Firm s global markets teams around the world. The groups under CIB R&A provide in-depth knowledge that is behind our Investment Banking, Structuring, Sales & Trading, and Research businesses around the globe. Markets Group is a fast-growing team covering multiple asset classes across geographies. The teams under this umbrella work closely with the trading, sales, and structuring teams spread across various regions across the globe. The key responsibilities of the team include pricing, generating product rationale, making marketing material and legal documents, back testing and analysis of new proprietary strategies, and market research. The class of products includes Equity Derivatives / Rates / FX / Alternatives / Commodities.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a sales team that focuses primarily on fixed income derivatives and structured investment products. Based on client requirements, determining suitable products and provide pricing on derivative structures using internal flow pricing models or by combining various option strategies for bespoke products, and help trade lifecycle process like instrument creation, assist with booking, note issuance process, term sheet preparation.


• Drive the process improvement and automation agenda for the sales team. Develop process automations for daily tasks using Python/VBA.


• Analyzing research reports from various sources and creating trade ideas by using macroeconomic drivers, optimizing payoffs, and generating strategies relevant for our client base.


• Combining the product knowledge with the market research and generating pitch books / factsheets which highlight why a particular product is suited for the current environment and back testing the results.


• Taking responsibility for post trade lifecycle events and assist with any client queries (settlements issues, lifecycle calculations, reconciliations, legal document checks).

Essential Skills

• Strong knowledge of derivatives and greeks - indices, futures, and options


• Strong knowledge of Equities, Rates, FX, and Commodities


• Knowledge of VBA and any object-oriented programming language (specifically Python)


• Close attention to detail and ability to work at very high standards of precision


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with Strong quantitative and analytical skills


• Good communication and team skills in a multi-location set up
