Position Summary:

Marine Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment on ships or offshore platforms.
  
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
  
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
  
• Supervise engineering team and contractors during maintenance and repair works.
  
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety and environmental regulations.
  
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, machinery performance, and incident reports.
  
• Coordinate with ship captains, officers, and shore-based teams for smooth operations.
  
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
  
• Participate in emergency drills and respond to engineering emergencies onboard.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Marine Engineering or related field.
  
• Valid marine engineering certification/license (e.g., Class I, II, or III Engineer Certificate).
  
• Proven experience working as a marine engineer onboard vessels or offshore installations (minimum 2-3 years preferred).
  
• Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and electrical systems.
  
• Familiarity with maritime safety standards and SOLAS, MARPOL regulations.
  
• Ability to work under physically demanding and challenging conditions.
  

Desirable:

• Experience with CAD software and marine engineering design.
  
• Knowledge of automation and control systems.
  
• Understanding of environmental management practices in marine operations.
