Your Job

Responsible for building, developing & leading the busbar engineering team and support Global Busbar growth. Add on responsibility will be to work on power distribution unit (Opportunity/knowledge share) and support any product developments of PSBU.

Our Team

The position will be part of power and signal business unit, which is part of the consumer and commercial division. The primary focus of this business unit is to serve consumer market, Datacenter market, power supplies market etc. for all low power to high power application needed. This role will understand the needs of the markets specified or any other markets beyond this and serve to grow the business unit.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for building, developing, leading and managing the busbar engineering team & supporting global busbar growth. Should work hand-on on projects during initial set up period and as team grow, move towards people development and management role.
  • Responsible for design and development of simple to complex categories of busbars e.g. Laminated, Powder coated, flexible etc. Add on, should build capability to handle more complex projects.
  • Own expertise to support quick proto and production tooling as applicable and deliver busbar per customer requirement.
  • Possess deep knowledge in busbar design, development, design review, DFMEA, manufacturing process, DFM, DFA, Tolerance analysis etc.
  • Expertise in thermal management & structural evaluations and providing right solutions to customer needs.
  • Apply customer centric development by having close interaction with customer / providing solutions i.e.Understand customer requirements, provide solutions towards their system level requirements, convert the system level requirements to component level and bring about quick turnaround components design/samples.
  • Responsible for providing application engineering support i.e. Able to visit customers, evaluate systems/requirements and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Responsible for developing talent, their knowledge and developing workflow process supporting requests coming across various geographies/plants.
  • Responsible for program management i.e. driving the cross functional team and support faster execution. Along with this should establish project monitoring and reporting mechanism.
  • Responsible for people management, resource management and priority management.
  • Responsible for fixture design for Bus bar assembly along with product design/development.
  • Own expertise in material selection, vendor selection and vendor development.
  • Other than new development, will have responsibility of product maintenance/problem solving/handling plant or customer queries etc.
  • Understand and implement product/process in accordance to UL, IEC etc. standards as applicable per market need.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering
  • Min. 10 years experience in designing and developing Bus bars. Min. 3 years of hands-on experience in managing the engineering team
  • Hands on expertise in Busbar engineering and power distributions units for both product development and maintenance.
  • Proven experience in people management and defining process.
  • NX CAD, Team center and Polarion or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge in product design and development along with team management.
  • Deep Knowledge/ work experience with proactive researching, analysis, testing theories, and showing principled entrepreneurship skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Knowledge in Mfg. process, Proto tool design and development, DFM, DFMEA/PFMEA etc.
  • Knowledge of product testing.
  • Should be curious to learn quickly any domain and able to do knowledge share. Be a lifelong learner and innovator.
  • Good collaboration (Global and Local) and excellent problems solving skills.
  • Good in vendor interactions and assessment.
  • Strong Engineering knowledge
