Job Description

As the Managing Director at Fourier's India office, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development center, focusing on product engineering, prototyping, and future manufacturing. You will report directly to the CEO and will have significant influence on technical direction, team building, and organizational development. Your responsibilities will include building a top-tier engineering organization from scratch, establishing core processes, and fostering a high-performance, mission-aligned culture. Working at the intersection of engineering innovation and company strategy, you will lead Fourier India's engineering organization and contribute to product strategy and execution on a global scale. Collaborating with the U.S. team, you will define and implement architectural and design directions for electrolyzer systems, oversee hardware and software development, and drive product development from early prototyping to late-stage manufacturing. Your role will involve providing technical oversight, managing engineering budgets and timelines, supporting vendor and supplier management, and contributing to Fourier's collaborative and people-first culture across India and the U.S. Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related Engineering disciplines. - Experience leading global technical teams, preferably in the US-India corridor, and working with global suppliers and customers. - 10+ years of experience leading teams with director-level (or higher) responsibilities. - Proven track record in managing and scaling high-performance engineering teams. - Deep expertise in building and launching industrial-grade hardware systems. - Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering challenges in the energy sector. - Prior experience in manufacturing and scaling complex systems, with skills in hiring, mentoring, and developing senior leaders and managers. - Strong understanding of Indian HR practices, including compensation, performance management, and employee relations. - Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational influence across geographies. - Experience in vendor management, sourcing, and contract negotiations is a plus.
