Job Description

Role & responsibilities

This job role will require the incumbent to manage accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger by performing GL proofing, variance analysis, bank reconciliation, provisioning control, and month-end closing, ensuring timely and high-quality financial close and reporting.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and Support in bank reconciliation activities to ensure timely closure and alignment with GL figures.
Perform detailed analysis of general ledger accounts and movements to identify root causes of variances.
Investigate and resolve unreconciled items on aging lists, ensuring proper documentation.
Ensure GL balances are reviewed (proofed), variance explanations are documented, and supporting justification is maintained.
Prepare variance reports comparing actuals vs budget/forecast/period-on-period changes.
Provide insights, and recommendations to management for corrective actions.
Assist in preparation and posting of month-end journal entries (accruals, reversals, adjustments).
Support reconciliations of balance sheet and P&L accounts; collaborate with finance teams to ensure close timelines are met.
Ensure accounting entries comply with relevant standards.

Preferred : CA with 3-4 Experience in Bank / NBFC
