Youth Outreach Manager
Position Objective:
To oversee the work of PETA India's Youth department for outreach to teens and young adults about PETA India campaigns and to raise awareness on animal rights.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage PETA India's Youth Outreach department staff and operations
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of outreach activities across India eensuring strategic presence and impactful engagement at college, music and other youth events to promote animal rights to teens and young adults
- Work with the PETA India Director to identify PETA India campaigns and initiatives to take to such events and work to develop new, exciting displays, experiences and initiatives including with technology creators and other external stakeholders where required
- Attend and personally execute programs at such events independently or, where required, with other department staff on a fair rota basis
- Identify and pursue strategic opportunities as approved by PETA India's Director to collaborate with celebrities and content creators who align with PETA India's mission and appeal to young audiences
- Work with other department staff to ensure a comprehensive calendar is maintained of all department engagements and that they are aligned with broader goals to maximize visibility, impact, and youth engagement on animal rights issues
- Recruit and work with department staff to maintain a database of youth volunteers at colleges and universities across the country and guide and engage with them for outreach
- Lead on various brainstorming meetings and build ideas for innovative ways to keep young people engaged with animal rights issues online and offline
- Stay updated on celebrity-related news and trends, including information about music artists, sports stars and content creators popular with the target age group in order to be able to develop ideas on engaging them for youth outreach
- Prepare and give talks and presentations at colleges and other youth events and continuously identify speaking opportunities
- Identify youth-focused brands and develop ideas to engage with them for youth outreach
- Communicate with and give interviews to the media about PETA India's Youth Outreach work, upon request
- Work to get young people and educators excited about animal rights through regular online and offline interaction
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field
- Fluency in English and Hindi, other languages a plus
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience
- Minimum of two years management experience
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
- Public speaking experience
- Knowledge of and interest in the education system affecting teens and young adults
- Proven excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to focus on both team and individual goals
- Proven exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgement
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and independently
- Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
- Support for PETA India's philosophy and the ability to advocate for animal rights professionally
