Role & responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head Technical services and other senior executives to develop dynamic production schedules, plans daily sales targets set by the management.
• Monitor the plant performanceproductivity, quality, energy efficiency, equipment maintenance, safety, and other aspectsdaily and ensure plant operations produce the desired results in alignment with the companys objectives, goals, and targets as well as statutory or regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve the purchases of all raw materials and services needed for smooth functioning of the cement plants while ensuring that both operational expenditure (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx) are controlled and within budget.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that capital projectsmachinery or equipment upgrades, capacity expansions, new technology implementations—adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Propose and implement sustainable manufacturing best practices (e.g., energy conservation, AFR/alternative fuel and raw materials, water management, etc.) to ensure company delivers positive environmental impact to its full potential.
• Travel to the manufacturing units a few times every quarter to monitor the plant activities more closely and analyze opportunities for process and performance improvement, such as increasing throughput, lowering energy consumption, optimizing inventory management, reducing downtime of critical equipment, and more.
• Maintain trusting relationships with all stakeholders, including third parties such as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), vendors and other service providers that supply to or work with RAIN Cements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil from a reputed, accredited university
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in the cement manufacturing sector
• Critical thinking abilities, analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills
• Superb interpersonal and leadership skills with a professional demeanour
• Understanding of integrated management systems (IMS)—looking at an organization’s performance holistically in line with multiple standards, such as those for quality (ISO 9001), environmental (ISO 14001), health and safety (ISO 45001), and energy management (ISO 50001).
• Familiarity with enterprise planning resource (ERP) software, such as SAP ERP
• Willingness to travel to worksites every quarter
• Experience in Total Quality Management (TQM) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
• Experience in industry 4.0 and related smart manufacturing projects is an advantage
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Fluency in Tamil
