Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Establish and maintain Quality Assurance system for incoming raw materials, in process activities, finished product and packaging materials.

  • To ensure Quality plan and analytical methods are developed & validated for all planned products, related raw materials and packaging.
  • To ensure & plan timely calibration of all the equipment and instruments.
  • Monitoring laboratory data and metrics on a regular basis to ensure that appropriate investigation, corrective action, and/or escalation is conducted.
  • Identify training needs and arrange for training.
  • To plan, monitor and direct activities of labs as well shop floor inspection.
  • Drive investigation in case of non-conformities.
  • To conduct internal multi-functional audits.
  • To provide hands on leadership and management of day-to-day quality interactions within the manufacturing group.
  • Obtain ISO, IATF and other specific certifications.

Prepare and control annual Budget for QA functions

  • Prepare and monitor budget for training, auditing, certifications, etc.
  • Tracking of expenses AMC/CMC of instruments
  • Listing of miscellaneous expenses

Dispatch of Samples for Customer Validation or third party evaluation.

  • Understanding of customer specifications and development of MSDS, COA and other such documents for dispatch to customers.
  • Provide samples to dispatch dept with all relevant details like manufacturing date & packing /storage details and SAP entries

Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in case of complaints

QMS Documentation Revision and issue of documents & its periodical reviews

  • Preparation of documents required by standards, certifying bodies, and organization
  • Revision of documents regularly as per document control procedure
  • Ensure latest documents are available for use for concerned departments
  • Compliance to IMS standards by keeping records updated.
  • Conduct internal audits

Collecting, collating and documenting laboratory metrics for presentation to management.

Should have very good administrative capability

  • Improve soft skills of group members.
  • Counseling and coaching of group members as and when required.
  • Training group members for implementation of SOPs and working with SAP module.
  • Resolving conflicts
  • Knowledge sharing meetings

SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING

  • Ensuring that the laboratory and group members are well aware about laboratory safety and equipped with the safety & housekeeping equipments.
  • Enforce guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices
  • Ensuring that the GLP/ GMP/ IMS are fully observed by the group members while doing their work.
  • Doing periodical safety & house-keeping rounds
  • Doing HAZOP studies of the processes developed in the laboratory.
  • Risk assessment of all activities in QC and safety audits

Preferred candidate profile

  • Post Graduation in Analytical Chemistry (MS / M. Sc or equivalent)
  • Certifications in ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management systems and auditing
  • Practice of online SAP system with good computer literacy
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (Analytical chemistry), train and coach others
  • Fluent in English
  • Good analytical ability and having exposure to root cause analysis
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to coach and build high performing teams
  • Very good influencing and assertiveness skills to bring in quality mindset
  • Very good understanding of Chemistry and operational issues

Relevant and total years of Experience

  • Total experience around 12 to 16 yrs (should be handling a functional leadership position with auditing experience).
  • Experience in large and leading chemical complex will be added advantage
  • Desirable - battery material testing
