Manager - Regulatory Affairs & Legal

1. JOB PURPOSE:

The job purpose is to provide expert legal counsel and support, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding intellectual property, and facilitating agreements and collaborations. The role contributes to the institute's mission by navigating complex legal landscapes and protecting its interests.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Description

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, providing legal guidance to the organization in adherence to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements of regulatory bodies (UGC, AICTE, State Government, etc.)

2. Liaise with regulatory bodies (UGC, AICTE, State Government, etc.) and ensure timely filings and responses.

3. Draft, negotiate, and finalize Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), agreements, and contracts with collaborating institutions, regulatory bodies, faculty and other

stakeholders.

4. Oversee the documentation related to grants, research funding, and arrangements with various corporate partners.

5. Collaborate with IP lawyers, both within and outside the organization, to develop and finalize IP policies, licensing agreements, and privacy policies.

6. Handle various corporate and institutional legal matters as required.

7. Preference for candidates with experience in higher education institutions and NGOs.

8. Handle litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings involving the institute/ university.

Liaise with regulatory bodies (UGC, AICTE, State Government, etc.) and ensure timely filings and compliances.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation in Law.

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience.
• Experience working with universities preferably in Maharashtra and handled regulatory compliance.

• Strong domain knowledge in corporate law and regulations pertaining to higher education.
