Job Description

Role Overview: Join the diverse and inclusive work culture at FLSmidth Cement as the Manager Procurement for Cement Services in the Manufacturing Operation-India department. Your role involves leading and managing end-to-end procurement for the service/equipment business, ensuring best-in-class cost, delivery, quality, and sustainability while aligning with global procurement frameworks and local operational needs. You will work in an international environment at the Arakkonam plant, collaborating with colleagues from different cultures. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement procurement strategies for the service/cement equipment business, including category sourcing, supplier segmentation, cost reduction, and risk mitigation. - Ensure alignment with global sourcing policies, local regulations, and business unit requirements. - Lead cost reduction initiatives, value engineering input, total landed cost optimization, and conduct supplier market research, benchmarking, and risk assessments. - Identify, evaluate, select, and develop suppliers for heavy fabrication, castings, machining, E&I, spare parts, negotiate contracts, and drive supplier performance management. - Oversee purchase order release, manage PO acknowledgements, progress tracking, and drive procurement process improvements and standardization. - Manage the procurement team, collaborate with internal stakeholders, work closely with global procurement/sourcing governance, and promote safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. Qualification Required: - Strong experience in heavy fabrication, machining, casting, E&I, spare parts procurement. - Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation, supplier development, category management, and cost-saving implementation. - Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP). - Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration. - Ability to read technical drawings, understand manufacturing processes, quality standards, and supplier capabilities. - Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Production) or Supply Chain/Business Administration. - 10-15 years of progressive experience in procurement/sourcing in heavy industries for a manager level role.
