Job Description

As the Engineering Manager for advanced supplier collaboration at Coupa, you will lead a team responsible for defining and building products that facilitate seamless collaboration between customers and suppliers. Your role will involve managing and reducing supply chain risks, ensuring on-time and on-quality delivery of goods/services. Your innovative mindset, coupled with a strong bias for action, will be instrumental in driving success for our customers. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the evolution of the Coupa Performance Engineering Team to meet the needs of various functional teams and acquired applications. - Manage an agile team of 6+ engineers, focusing on hiring, retaining, and motivating top talent. - Define long-term roadmap, drive release planning and execution, and be involved in technical architecture and design decisions. - Collaborate with peers, including Product Management, Development Engineering, and Cloud Infrastructure teams, to scale applications and infrastructure optimally. - Provide technical assistance to enhance system performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability. - Conduct proactive end-to-end cluster scalability, performance, and exceptions analysis. - Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the platform, processes, and overall business. - Advocate for performance best practices and tools within the team and organization. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 14+ years of experience in Performance Engineering. - Expertise in public cloud, distributed system, microservices architecture, and capacity planning. - Proficiency in performance engineering design, implementation, and automation of benchmarks. - Demonstrated experience in performance, scalability analysis, and optimizations. - Familiarity with distributed tracing tools/APM such as New Relic, Grafana, and Kibana for metrics collection and dashboard creation. - Experience with tools like Gatling, AWS, Azure, Ruby/Java, MySQL, Linux, and microservices. - Ability to mentor individuals and teams, with a good functional understanding of enterprise SaaS products. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. - Prior experience managing Ruby on Rails development projects and enterprise platform architecture.
