Job Description

Candidate Expectation

  • Candidate with at least 2 years of experience as an IBA (Insurance Broker Accounting) Manager and an additional 4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager before the current role.
  • Managed minimum span of control 50 at Manager level.
  • Ensuring compliance with the accounting standards and regulations knowledge about UK Insurance Market and optional Bureau Market.

Education:

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring team is:
    • Reconciling and reviewing Insurer Accounts, Claims and Bureau Accounts as per policy.
    • Performing month end activities e.g. meeting the targets and SLAs.
    • Reviewing and investigating reconciliation variances.
    • Managing and clearing of open items, including timely communication to stakeholders of aged open items.
    • Preparing/Approving reporting in line with onshore requirements.
  • Conduct regular calibration and refresher sessions.
  • Make sure process essential documents are up to date - SOP, Training Gantt and manuals, Error Log and other relevant documents.
  • Review training need analysis both process and non-process related.
  • Foster innovation and automation mindset within team, driving continuous improvements - process efficiencies, automation, best practices implementation.
  • Upskill team process knowledge and resolve process related queries.
  • Ensure financial integrity and timely monthly and year end close processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Divisional Financial Operations to improve financial and accounting accuracy.
  • Review and investigate reconciliation variances, assisting management to develop appropriate action plans addressing issues identified.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits including control walkthroughs, documentation support and inquiry response.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally to meet strict project execution deadlines.
  • Drive on-time, accurate & quality service delivery within agreed upon SLAs for assigned processes.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards, account reconciliations and month end close experience.
  • Knowledge of the insurance brokerage business (Mandatory).
  • Experience in Accounts / Audit / Preparation and Consolidation of Financial Statements.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Access including links, macros, database development and forms (non-mandatory).
  • Proficient computer, financial data, internal consulting and customer-focused communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and ability to work with various teams; should be able to forge meaningful and well-established relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Must possess analytical skills. Responsible for advanced problem solving and must filter, prioritize, analyze and validate information.
  • Overseas transition experience would be beneficial though not mandatory.
  • Must be flexible with UK shift timings (12 PM to 9 PM or 1 PM to 10 PM).
