About The Role
The Manager, Product Development at Mastercard will play a pivotal role in advancing our vision of a World Beyond Cash through Mastercard Send. This service enables the rapid, secure transfer of funds across various use cases, including person-to-person payments, business transactions, disbursements, remittances, and merchant payments. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and executing Send&aposs core platform priorities, particularly on Core Switching and Commercial & Institutional (C&I) platforms, collaborating closely with global and regional product teams, engineering teams, and other key stakeholders.This role involves designing, developing, and delivering innovative capabilities or enhancements to existing platforms that drive revenue growth, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation. The Manager will utilize a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, market dynamics, and regulatory landscape to ensure the successful launch and ongoing improvement of Mastercards payment solutions. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions while fostering cross-functional collaboration to ensure a seamless customer experience.Additionally, the Manager will lead efforts to validate new market opportunities using the Studio Framework, oversee product commercialization, and ensure robust end-to-end servicing plans are in place. Data analysis and research will be critical in identifying opportunities and resolving ambiguous problems. The role also emphasizes continuous learning, best practice sharing, and demonstrating Mastercards core values through leadership and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive product management experience within the global payments industry, with a strong background in real-time payments, money transfers, and remittances. Knowledge of payments data standards and familiarity with Mastercards authorization, clearing, and settlement systems are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate technical expertise in developing integrated product solutions across multiple categories and possess a proven track record of leading cross-disciplinary teams.Leadership qualities such as accountability, a sense of urgency, and a passion for delivering impactful results are essential. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and work independently under pressure. Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred, along with superior communication skillsboth oral and written. A strong business acumen, customer focus, and analytical mindset are critical for success in this role.Educational qualifications typically include a bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or related fields; advanced degrees or relevant certifications in product management or payments technology are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including partner platform PMTs and software development teams, to design, develop, and implement new platform capabilities or enhancements that support revenue growth, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
- Understand and analyze market dynamics, regulatory requirements, legal considerations, and competitive landscapes impacting Mastercard Send.
- Utilize the Studio Framework to rapidly frame ideas, develop concepts, and create prototypes to validate market opportunities.
- Collaborate with product management, technical teams, and software guilds to develop scalable, robust solutions aligned with the software development lifecycle.
- Translate business requirements and customer experiences into detailed features and functions for platform and product roadmaps.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback from legal, data privacy, delivery, finance, marketing, and sales teams to ensure a comprehensive go-to-market strategy.
- Work closely with servicing teams to develop end-to-end support plans that enhance customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Lead product commercialization efforts, including planning and executing an 18-month roadmap focused on customer experience, revenue generation, and product quality improvements.
- Leverage data analytics to research complex problems, lead cross-disciplinary teams when necessary, and communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain detailed product documentation to institutionalize knowledge and support ongoing product management excellence.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development through Mastercards learning curriculum and industry best practices.
