Manager - GIS Projects

As a Manager of GIS Projects at BetterDrones, you will be responsible for leading geospatial initiatives focusing on drone-based mapping, utilities, and urban infrastructure. Your role will require a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and experience in delivering GIS projects using drone data. You will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities: - Oversee the entire process of GIS projects utilizing drone data, including planning, data management, processing, analysis, quality control, and final delivery. - Manage and provide guidance to a diverse GIS team working on various projects. - Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure adherence to timelines, deliverables, and quality standards. - Supervise data processing, spatial analysis, and map generation using industry-leading GIS and CAD software. - Develop project plans, documentation, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders. - Implement best practices in data quality, team workflow, and project delivery procedures. To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills: - A master's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, or Geoinformatics. - At least 6 years of experience in executing GIS projects professionally. - Hands-on experience in managing drone-based mapping projects from inception to completion. - Strong leadership skills and project management experience. - Excellent communication, client interaction, and planning abilities. - Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related software tools. Preferred experience that would be advantageous includes: - Previous work in the utility sector such as Power and Water. - Experience overseeing urban GIS projects and large-scale infrastructure mapping. - Familiarity with integrating drone data outputs into enterprise GIS platforms.
