Job Description

As a Senior Manager in the Financial Reporting team at Stantec, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of Accounting Technicians and Analysts in the day-to-day operations of financial reporting. Located in the Pune office, you will play a crucial role in maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Supervise and mentor accounting technicians and analysts to ensure high performance in a centralized environment - Contribute to hiring decisions within the Pune Financial Reporting team and allocate work efficiently - Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, including Bank Reconciliations, Other Liabilities, and Intercompany transactions - Prepare complex journal entries and quarterly working papers - Assist in the 5-day period end close process, identifying and correcting any issues to ensure accurate financial statements - Provide necessary information for external disclosure and address queries from Internal and External auditors - Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures, including key controls for financial reporting related to Stantec's SOX and internal control program - Assist in business process improvement initiatives and updates to financial practices and procedures **Qualifications:** - Accounting degree/diploma and a professional accounting designation with over 10 years of post-designation experience in a fast-paced accounting environment - Demonstrated leadership skills with over 7 years of supervisory experience - Experience in a multinational company setting - Thorough knowledge of full cycle accounting, with understanding of IFRS and IFRS 16 - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to engage with staff at all levels - Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively - Proficient in analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective written and oral communication skills in English - Intermediate to advanced Excel skills - Experience with Oracle or other large Enterprise systems and Blackline would be beneficial In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting at Stantec.
