The Manager should have prior experience in subject matter expert role on working with a fund administrator and have exposure in fund accounting, financial reporting and technology/fund accounting systems for private equity & real estate funds
Strong experience in preparation and review of financial statements (under USGAAP, IFRS) for mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity funds including the following a) Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Partners Capital, b) Statement of Operations, c) Statement of Changes in Partners Capital, d) Statement of Cash Flows, e) Schedule of Investments and f) Notes to Financial Statements including related disclosures
Strong experience in audit preparedness and financial statement close processes, coordination with onshore team members and handling auditor queries etc, for various funds
Working knowledge and clear understanding of relevant regulatory guidance for investment funds including USGAAP, AICPA requirements is preferred
Deeper understanding of various fund structures like Master-Feeder, Fund of Funds, Blocker entities etc and working knowledge of various investment products like equity and derivative instruments along with related accounting aspects
Working knowledge and clear understanding in various fee structures, calculation of management fees and performance fees including carried interest, preferred return and clawback provisions
Experience in operational aspects like NAV finalization, reconciliations, management reporting and investor reporting, reconcile investor capital balances and allocation of Profit & Loss
Understanding and working knowledge of the current accounting and financial reporting operating environment for various funds managed by the asset manager
Understanding and knowledge of fund investment strategies like venture capital, leverage buyouts, distressed debt etc, is preferred
Broadly, the key responsibilities are Be a coach / mentor to a team of Seniors and Staff s and train them to deliver high Quality industry specific work on time and within the time estimates made and agreed with the US engagement teams / key stakeholders
Support Managers/Senior Managers in the process of preparing audit plans, audit program, testing and
reports Work with existing processes/systems whilst making constructive suggestions for improvements
