Manager entomology

1. Insect Rearing & Colony Management

• Mass multiplication and year-round rearing of key insect pests on natural and artificial diets.
  
• Establish and maintain healthy insect colonies under controlled laboratory conditions.
  
• Standardize insect diets and rearing protocols for consistent supply of test insects.
  

2. Bioefficacy Testing & Product Screening

• Conduct in-house screening of all biological products against various insect pests under:
  
• Laboratory conditions
  
• Greenhouse conditions
  
• Field conditions (in coordination with field teams)
  
• Design and execute doseresponse studies, mode-of-action experiments, and comparative studies.
  

3. Product Registration & Label Claim Trials

• Lead all bioefficacy trials required for new product registrations and label claim submissions.
  
• Liaise with State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), ICAR institutes, CROs, and international universities/partners for multi-location trials.
  
• Review protocols and monitor external trials to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
  

4. Reporting, Documentation & Protocol Development

• Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and regulatory documentation for domestic and international clients.
  
• Develop detailed trial protocols aligned with national and international guidelines.
  
• Maintain accurate data records and ensure traceability for audits.
  

5. Laboratory Operations & GLP Compliance

• Oversee daily laboratory operations including workflow planning, resource allocation, consumables planning, and instrumentation maintenance.
  
• Implement and ensure adherence to GLP practices across the entomology lab.
  
• Maintain high standards of biosafety, quality assurance, and documentation.
  

6. TIC Software Implementation & Data Management

• Manage and oversee implementation of TIC/Trial Information Management Software.
  
• Ensure accurate data entry, validation, and real-time reporting through TIC.
  
• Train team members to effectively use research and data management tools.
  

7. Data Analysis & Interpretation

• Interpret data to generate meaningful insights for product development and regulatory submissions.
  
• Present findings to management, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
  

8. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and supervise the entomology team to ensure smooth execution of experiments.
  
• Conduct skill development sessions and mentor team members on entomological techniques.
  
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Regulatory, and Field Teams.
