Manager- Electrical (Waste To Energy Power Plant-Biomass)

Role & responsibilities

1. Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of Electrical Systems

Ensure smooth operation of all electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, and auxiliaries.

Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical breakdowns swiftly to maintain plant availability.

2. Compliance, Safety & Standards

Ensure compliance with statutory norms (CEA, IE Rules, Grid Code, Factory Act, etc.).

Maintain safe work practices as per electrical safety standards (PTW, LOTO, PPE usage).

Conduct regular safety audits and electrical system health checks.

3. Energy Management & Reliability

Optimize electrical system efficiency to reduce auxiliary power consumption.

Ensure reliable power evacuation, grid synchronization.

Monitor system parameters to ensure uninterrupted 15 MW generation.

4. Manpower Management & Training

Lead and supervise the electrical department team (engineers, technicians, shift staff).

Provide technical training and skill development programs for the team.

Ensure round-the-clock support through effective shift planning.

5. Project & Improvement Initiatives

Lead electrical modification, upgradation, and automation projects.

Ensure availability of critical spares and inventory management.

Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and contractors for AMC/repairs.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of equipment history, breakdown analysis, and maintenance reports.

Prepare MIS reports on power generation, auxiliary consumption, and equipment performance.

Support management with data for audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.

7. Budget & Cost Control

Prepare and monitor annual O&M budget for the electrical department.

Control maintenance costs through effective planning and vendor management.

Ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality and reliability.
